Hmmm…did your kindly old grandfather tell you about how union guys would beat people into submission with baseball bats if they dared to try to cross picket lines? Did he tell you about how my 20-year-old sister was accosted in the parking lot of her workplace and threatened with violence if she didn’t vote to unionize the place? Did he tell you about the lies and misrepresentations made about the owner of the auto parts warehouse I worked at in the late sixties and the threats and intimidation which went into the Teamsters’ efforts to unionize that place (and which, I’m proud to say, I played a significant role in defeating)? And did he tell you about all the union fees that workers were forced to pay into funds that were raided shamelessly and illegally by their leaders?
I know of no other entity in the country that has been allowed to get away with beatings and threats and intimidation like labor unions have.
Just goes to show what I’ve always said: liberalism (and its offshoots like labor unions) is a most intolerent, unyielding, dictatorial and repressive political ideology.
