Why I hate apples (long)

Original sin?

This seems like the place to post this - I tried a Grapple apple today (pronounced GRAPE-ell) and it was delicious! They are apples that are supposed to smell and taste like grapes - they certainly smell like grapes; the taste, not so much, but they’re still a very nice, tasty, juicy apple. I highly recommend them!

Knock knock.

It’s the doctor. He just won’t stay away!

I do like grapples! Haven’t had one since I was in college. They are mighty expensive though!

And what’s up with the Honey Crisp? Honey’s gooey, not crisp, unless it’s crystallized and then you have to heat it up in the microwave and it gets all hot and the plastic bottle melts and then you have melted gooey honey all over the inside of your microwave. Fuck apples.

I had a cranky uncle who used to throw apples at a dead body.

I’m not going to bother typing out the punchline.

And this year’s apple crop stinks, at least here in NY. First we had an early spring followed by a hard frost that did a number on the blooms and then, right before it was time to harvest, a lot of bad weather that further damaged the crop. It’s too damn hard to get a good local apple this year.

Is this a parody of some other thread?

Yes.

I am the Apple and the Zebra.

Sometimes I like apples. Sometimes I hate apples.

Thanks for reading.

That freaked me out, with the dark gray color on the word peel and core it looked like my monitor had a smudge on it, but I scrolled the words and the smudge was still there. Then I started doubting my eyesight.

I’m beginning to hate actual apples too as a result of this thread.

I like Fiona Apple.

Only for VERY generous definitions of the word.

Well this has turned out to be rotten thread.

“Take a bite of this apple, America…”

I don’t like apple carts. For some reason they upset me.

Apple, apfel, eple, pingguo…in any language it sounds like you are trying to spit out something nasty. Clearly, early etymologists were on to something.

Why would you buy an apple that smells and tastes like a grape? Especially if:

Am I missing something?
