In Smaptiland, every meter maid carries a headsman’s axe. Don’t want to bleed out on the sidewalk? Should’ve turned your wheel toward the curb, punk.
Cute.
For the record, I’d just like to make it clear that I do not support summary execution as a penalty for moving violations.
What the fuck does the last several hours have to do with anything?
I don’t give a shit what happened prior, you don’t get to shoot a cuffed suspect because your patience ran out. The ONLY thing that matters is the circumstances of the shooting.
Do you really suggest that cops don’t fuck up from time to time?
More parking enforcement, but it’s cheering to see you mellow with age.
Obviously you’re a police apologist, so there’s no point in addressing this with you.
The several hours which establish that the victim was not acting rationally, had violently assaulted one officer already, was able to get his cuffed hands around to the front of his body and put on his shoes without anyone noticing, and had been Tasered five times with no apparent effect. The officer didn’t shoot him because “his patience ran out”, he shot him because he was afraid for his own safety and that of his partner who appeared to be being overpowered.
The findings of the grand jury bear out that the shooting was justified. A kneejerk emotional response based on a few seconds of out-of-context video does not police brutality make.
I believe we’re better off with police than without them. If that makes me a “police apologist”, then so be it.
I’m not a huge fan of police in general and I’m definitely not a lawbreaker. I’ve had one speeding ticket and nothing else. They have not been helpful to my children and me when we have needed it (and the sample size is not small; three jurisdictions). I went to school for two years with the intention of becoming a police officer and decided it was not for me.
Except that the video clearly shows the suspect with his hands cuffed behind his back, sitting on the ground, being shot from above by a standing officer.
You didn’t watch it, did you?
There is no way this was necessary.
Who the fuck is arguing that?
Perhaps we should have police but also hold them responsible for gross negligence in the death of the people under their supervision?
No, the video clearly shows the suspect on the ground, struggling with officers, shoving one off of him and nearly getting up just before the shot is fired.
You didn’t watch it, did you?
Wow, that’s some cognitive dissonance exceeding the level of Adaher and Clothahump.
I honestly didn’t think I would agree with this statement but…
There honestly is no point in discussing this with you any more than a 911 truther.
Yeah, we do. And some of those stories wake us up in the middle of the night with tears rolling down our faces, nearly 40 years after the stories happened.
So, OP…you hate all cops apparently. What did you get busted for?
And you believe what? The drugged-out bodybuilder who was immune to Tasers and could front his cuffs in a matter of seconds was no danger, and the cop just shot him for the lulz? The man was a danger at that instant in time, and the officer made a judgment call that he had to shoot then and there to ensure the safety of himself and his partner. The grand jury, which saw the same video clip you saw, concurred that the shooting was justified.
What would you have had them do? Would you have had the officer wait until his partner’s head had been smashed into the pavement before he was allowed to shoot? Should he have tried to talk down the psychopathic juicehead? Should he have run away and told mommy about the mean man?
Fuck off, zoid. Any of my posts on my bad days are better than yours on the best day of your life, which sadly came and went a long damn time ago.
As much as I hate would to admit it, if I was ever “inconvenienced” by local authorities, I would say I deserved it. If it ever happened. Not sayin’ it did, or anything.
Recently. Or ever. Never?
I’m on his side; Sting’s solo stuff wasn’t as good as what the band put out.
I think the OP is that guy who got busted on “Cops” after the officer pulled him over for a traffic violation, then got suspicious when the guy rolled down his window and dense clouds of pot smoke spewed out.
No way that should have been justifiable cause for a search of the vehicle.
Reminds me of Jon Stewart’s old stand-up bit.
@ 13:45 or so Fuck the Police
You can say that again.
