Okay, that’s another thing. There’s no snow here, and “winter” generally happens in January and February if at all. Mowing is necessary during at least 9-10 months of the year in Houston. Then as soon as spring hits, all the live oaks drop their tiny, unrakeable leaves AND a crapload of nasty pollen tassels, which we are highly allergic to. It’s medically necessary to have someone else deal with that stuff.
God, we’re knee deep in those tassels at my house. Time to call Ol’ Studly again.
Yowwch!
I do tractor work in the summer (when I want to - summertime is precious here).
I wouldn’t even consider charging $100/hour - I feel bad charging my neighbors $40/hour - friends or not. I’m in an affulent community, but that’s just plain nuts. I’d say he really doesn’t want to do the work, but if you’re willing to pay him enough, he will. That’s what we do 'round these parts
In the winter, I plow and haven’t changed rates for the past two years for plowing nor tractor work. An extra two - three bucks per plow or per hour for tractor work is not something you need to charge. If you’re that tight, you shouldn’t be doing it for your liveliehood, or have charged a higher price to start. It ain’t rocket science, ayuh.
