Why is Bud Light Lime so expensive?

You’re not missing anything. I worked a large outdoor event where Molsons was agressively pushing the Iced Tea and gave it a shot. In my defense, it was free.

I’m not a huge iced tea or beer fan, and the combination is not something I’d ever have again.

I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt here, but only if you can give us a very good explanation of how you came to willingly drink Bud Light Lime in the first place. Just how much were you paid?

I was going to ask “How drunk were you already?”, but I’m pretty sure that in that case, unconsciousness would occur first…

I like it much more than any other Bud. My old favorite was Micheloeb Light but they don’t make that any more.

I first came to drink Bud Light Lime while visiting friends in Baltimore. These are folks who drink pretty continuously on vacation, which we all are when we’re together, so my husband and I make attempts to keep up (when in Rome and all that).

My tolerance is not what it used to be, and drinking a steady stream of IPAs all day, even a slow stream, would probably kill me. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and pacing is all-important. So I was trying out various light beers, almost all of which I found pretty horrible. One of our hosts suggested Bud Light Lime, which he loves. I tried it and it was sooo much better than any other light beer. Possibly because all I taste is the lime with a vague malty finish. I find it refreshing and actually kind of delicious.

Total tangent, but for those of you mentioning cheladas and micheladas, I present an awesome and delicious beer cocktail that you can make at home:

  1. Take a pint glass.

  2. Add ~3/4 oz. worcestershire sauce

  3. Add ~3/4 oz. hot sauce (I use Cholula)

  4. Add ~3/4 oz. lime juice or lemon juice

  5. Pour in the contents of a bottle of beer (I use Negra Modelo, but Modelo/Corona/Tecate/etc. is fine too)

  6. Add a few turns of freshly ground black pepper

  7. Stir thoroughly

  8. Adjust the spiciness/saltiness/lime-ness to your taste

  9. Enjoy

My mom and all of my aunts LOVE Bud Light Lime. Before it came out, their usual beers were Bud Light or Miller Lite.

I tried BLL once when it was the only beer in the house. It was a hot summer day and I had just washed the car. Figured it would be ok.

:smack: No. Poured it out. And the darkest beer I love is Shiner Bock.

My brother likes it too, and he always drinks Budweiser, Heineken and has been getting into darker beers and IPAs. So I cannot explain its power.

We also live in STL so Bud products have a high popularity anyway.
