A lot of the cast showed too much eye makeup on closeups. It was the Sixties, man. When Sulu is zapped by the exploding console at the beginning of “City on the Edge of Forever,” there’s a closeup of him with his eyes closed, and he’s got waaaay too much eye shadow on.
And yes, I know that George Takei’s gay. Just sayin’…
Yup. When I was a kid watching them on an old black & white TV, they looked fine. Watching the remastered, digitally enhanced episodes on modern TVs is really just cringe-worthy sometimes. I don’t think I’ll even be able to watch when they get digitally remastered into HDTV quality. Yikes.
