Why is criticizing the Jewish religion uniquely inappropriate?

I wasn’t aware it was OK to pick on the Amish in the first place.

The most recent time I can think of someone criticizing Judaism openly in the media was the SF circumcision ban comic fiasco.

If someone wants to criticize the role of women in Orthodox Judaism, I think it’s fair…but every yera, I hear someone complain that Jews are this and that for wanting to ruin everyone’s Christmas and not have tree and blah blah blah. That kind of thing just turns me off.

Anti-Semites have been openly criticizing the Jews since Jesus (or before, actually). I think it’s fair to say the Holocaust (as well as some sort of post-WWII sense of decency we’ve inherited) and the Civil Rights movement, not to mention the general breakdown of picket fences/greater access to the world, it’s just…rather unseemly. Not to be done in polite company, I guess.

The same thing happened when Hott Lips wrote a letter to Peg, claiming that her and B.J. were secret lovers, and so then Winchester learned just how destructive practical jokes can be.

most catholics don’t proselytize to jews; an admission that christianity sprang from judaism.

Tell that to Southern Baptists.
