I swear, the average person is so dumb. I hate it when people just can’t see how dumb they are. The select few among us who are smart are forced to tolerate all those dumb people out there. It’s tough work.

I work help desk for a large internet provider, so I fully understand the “You! Outta the gene pool!” argument. But in all fairness, we’re all ignorant in some aspect. I can fix my computer all by myself with absolutely NO help desk intervention, but if my car breaks, Im going to sound just as stupid at the mechanics as he would sound coming to me for computer help.
I have noticed that illiteracy seems to be alot higher in the States than we think it is. Out of the 40 people a day I assist, I would say that 15 read at a sub-high school level. Pretty sad.
Good argument for better public education funding though, I’d suppose.
I think it’s because they don’t read.
I never cease to be astonished at the number of people more than willing to own up to the fact that they don’t read!
Is it just me, or isn’t that something you’d be wise to keep to yourself? I am stunned into silence whenever I hear someone say the words, “I don’t really read”.
Even if, for whatever God forsaken reason, you don’t read, keep your mouth shut about it.
The Average person is not dumb. He or she is average. Maybe it’s the company you keep. What I mean by that is, most of the people who post HERE, are dumb.
Supernova - you will have to explain what sets you apart from the masses and how that makes you superior. From where I sit I can’t see how you can state that everyone is stupid as I have no proof that you aren’t a trained chimp in a lab somewhere who finally typed out some rudimentary sentences

We have to do something for the lower 50% to raise the average intelligence level of the population.
This could be difficult if not impossible.
And it gets worse as you get older.

When I first started browsing this board (about a year ago) there were about 1500/2000 members. Most posts were intelligent, well thought out, and SPELLCHECKED.
I recently decided to join.
Now there’s 11 000? Oh fuck.

When no one thinks twice about how meaningless that answer is, it tells me stupidity is accepted on this board.
