Why is Google Chrome flagging my email server?

Chrome now insists that centurylink.net, my home page and the portal to my email server, is a phishing site. Neither my home button nor Google’s own link to the site works. Does it make a difference that the address is supposed to be preceded by http:// and that Chrome keeps automatically stripping that header off? Malwarebytes and Avira did not detect any trojans in my system.

Well, I went to the site you offered on Chromium and Google said nothing. Admittedly Google is often dumb, but in your case it may be a certificate mismatch. There’s no little https:// shield ( as one would expect from a site this size ) and information says insecure site. That’s only a guess. However Google itself has forgotten to renew certificates in the past.

Obviously I am not running any anti-virus stuff nor a firewall, but Google generally flags sites it’s unhappy about.

If you’re using the correct URL (and not, say, centuryIink.net or something), then I don’t know. I’m not having trouble on my computer, either.

Any unknown extensions appearing in your extension list? Have you tried disabling all extensions to see if the problem goes away? Maybe one of them is going to a site Google thinks is a phishing site.

And, no, there’s no relevance to Chrome chopping off the http:// part. That’s just how Chrome works. Though, really, if you’re doing email, they should be using https://, which should not be dropped.

Unless phish-flagging is some secret art form I hadn’t heard of, this should be in GQ. Moving.
