Oops, I completely left Illinois out of that list. It’s obviously a guaranteed blue state each election year.
True that Indianapolis has a second term Dem as Mayor, but it had nothing but Republicans for at least 32 years before 1999, and I believe that they only organized the City Council after the 2003 election.

Who cares if mayors are anything. State and local politics are a totally different animal. MA has had a series of republican governors, but did that phase any conservative talking heads from equating “Massachusetts” with “stark raving liberals”? Hell no. Now, you might say that’s just because they have a hard time holding on to multiple facts simultaneously in order to actually reason out an argument, but I say that internal politics and national politics are often pretty different beasts.
