I haven’t had trouble finding it at the grocery store. I do see less selection of shapes lately to make room for the alternate grain and gluten free varieties.
No, no! It’s rad and cheese! See? Even better!
If you have a pasta craving and just have to have it on the spur of the moment, yeah. Otherwise I don’t understand not ordering something online if you can plan it a couple days ahead. Then again, “technology” people used to make fun of me for buying things online and said that no one would ever use it for that.
Tortiglioni is a great substitute for fusilli and we use it for mac and cheese as well. I can’t believe it took as long as it did to mention Fusilli Jerry; maybe there was a Sein-Con going on ?
Check post no. 2? :dubious:
:smack:Forgot that part… I was looking at post #15…
Another favorite shape for holding onto sauces and CHEESE is Wagon Wheels, aka Rotelle.
They might as well call it futilli.
You want to talk about hard-to-find pasta shapes, talk about alphabet pasta. Back in the Midwest I could get it at Meijer, but out here in the Meijer-less PNW world, I looked for over two years before stumbling onto some stocked in the *Mexican *section of the grocery.
No, you can’t get it from Amazon.
Come to think of it, that’s the last place I’ve seen them around here, too, with the Mexican brands of pasta. (Although in most of the stores I go to, but not all, they are in the same section as the American and Italian brands of pasta.)
And I’m not sure what you mean by you can’t get it on Amazon. I see tons of alphabet pasta on Amazon.
If the OP is insistent that rotini and fusili are not interchangeable, perhaps homemade is in order.
(looks it up on Amazon)
(blink blink)
There are tons of alphabet pastas.
I checked three days ago and there were none.
I’d like to point out that they’re stupid-expensive on Amazon, though.
Yeah, La Moderna is the Mexican brand I see around here. Looks like they’re selling it for about $5-$6 a package (7.5 oz). They’re something like 99 cents at the store here, if I remember right. Possibly even less.
Ah-ah. No take-backs.
Try Wal-Mart or Target. They have it on-line as well.
Million to one shot, Doc!
Million to one shots pay off nine times out of ten.
Yeah, they’re only $0.49 a pack here for the alphabet shapes (and all the other shapes, actually), and even on special today 5 for $2.
So you’re the Assman!
They have the best stories.
