Turns out she is in heart failure, but not congestive heart failure. So the vet put her on 2 medications, which are not too expensive plus a low sodium diet. Unfortunately, there is no surgery or procedure to cure her, but vet said she is not in pain & can live comfortably for many years. I think the worst part may be giving her the pills everyday, but since she loves to eat so much, I’m going to try to hide them in food. Thanks again to everyone for your willingness to help her & for the moral support!!

Harvey had seizures. We crushed his phenobarbital with a pill crusher, and mixed it in with a little wet food. Mrs. L.A. was a little parsimonious with the wet food, so Harvey always ate it greedily – even with the pill mixed in.
When my beloved cat Paris was on chemo, I had to give him three pills a day. He wasn’t eating much and had lost a lot of weight, so I couldn’t hide them in his food. So I crushed them and mixed them with a couple tablespoons of condensed milk. He loved it. Of course I had to give milk, without pills, to the other cat as well.

If you can’t get it sneaked by her, there is a pharmacy (Roadrunner) that will compound the medication into a flavored liquid (chicken, for example). I used them in the past and they were easy to deal with, and not expensive. Also, my cat liked the medication. 
Try Greenies Pill Pockets (if the sodium is not too bad). My mom used to use liverwurst or Velveeta. And if all else fails (or those aren’t viable alternatives), you can get “pill poppers”, which is basically a plunger used to get the pill far enough back in the cat’s mouth they can’t spit it out before you blow in their face.
