Why is my printer doing this and how can I stop it?

I have an all-in-one Epson WF-3540 ink jet, set up for wireless printing. I use all the functions except for the fax capability, and the printer is not connected to a phone line.

So here’s the problem: whenever I try to print something from the internet, the fax window comes up. I then have to copy whatever it is I want to print, paste it into a Word document, and only then print it out. I cannot figure out how to stop this from happening.

Here’s the really weird part: I can print from the internet when I use my laptop, but not from the PC. This would seem to indicate a problem with preferences somewhere.

Any ideas? The instruction book is typically unhelpful.

start - devices -r click on printer - select “set as default printer”

Somehow fax mode has become set as your default printer.

Nope. There are two options for the printer, fax and regular. Regular is the default setting.
Wait a sec: I just looked at where the computer is trying to send it, and it automatically selected the fax mode for some reason, even though the default is not set to fax mode. I think maybe the problem is solved.
