Why is my streaming radio so bad all of a sudden?

I use Tunein on my iphone 4 to stream a couple of radio stations at work. Typically it works ok, with some disconnecting happening here and there (my location in the building isn’t optimum for cell phone reception). For the last week or so it’s been really bad. I don’t even get the connecting/buffering messages anymore. It just stops and then I’ll hit the skip buttons to listen to maybe a couple minutes at a time at most. Is it the heat? Maybe the energy load is drawing radio transmission power down or something?

Maybe your ISP is throttling your connection? Did your colleague also buy a smartphone? Did IT install some new equipment that is interfering with your connection?

Try rebooting your device. If that doesn’t do the trick contact your ISP or IT.

Oops I left out a detail - I’m doing the streaming over Verizon’s service, not wifi.

Does this happen with multiple music services or just one?

The only radio station app I’ve used used is Tunein. I used Spotify earlier today and it was fine.

My guess is that the FBI are now taking a close look at you!

The FBI won’t, but, if the station isn’t legal, your ISP might, due to the new agreement with the RIAA.

Does this happen on any station you try to listen to?

I also use TuneIn and have a similar situation with one station in particular. The other stations I like are fine.

It happened equally on the two stations I listen to.

I rebooted my iphone. things are working better now. thanks
