I lost the will to finish this thread right after I typed ‘of?’
(probably because I am fed up looking for it, and somehow this thread is part of the process of looking for it) Anyway, I will percivere.
Strategy guides in general are pretty popular and widespread. Most of the time they are for games that. let’s be honest, don’t need strategy guides at all.
SimCity 4 is a popular game. It is also very complicated, and probably right up at the top of the ‘challenging’ list. So it almost NEEDS a strategy guide!
I would guess that the strategy guide to game ratio of sim city games would be far far higher than for most other games.
The whole situation seems backwards - abundance of strategy guides for games that can easily be played without them. SHORTAGE of strategy guide for a game that almost needs to be played (well) with one.
If I had had the motivation that I lost at ‘of?’ to finish this thread, it would have been worded better and all that .

Having said that, it isn’t really a “Strategy guide” at all. There are damned few strategies in it. It’s mostly a technical explanation of how the game works, the sort of thing you USED to get in the game manual.
Maybe because so many people need it, they’re selling out?
Anyway, it’s at Amazon.com, if nowhere else. And the local Best Buy has had tons of copies since it came out.
BTW, how the heck do you get animals to stay in your city? Everytime I place any they will either drown themselves or run off the edge of the map. Am I really that bad of a mayor?
Muad’Dib, they’re drawn to the spice. You need more spice in your city.
Actually, like that joke, the animals are pointless. They’re just there for fun, so you can see herds of wild animals running around while you’re terraforming the wilderness. If you have enough trees in your city, more animals will appear randomly in the forests and venture out into your development.
