The most amazing thing about that quote is that the quote alone didn’t lose him any support. He is mocking his supporters for their blind loyalty, and they somehow see that as a complement.

That’s the scary part. He said it about them and they cheered. They didn’t even consider that trying to use their brains was desirable. It is a frightening window into the mind of the messianic culture of hate of those people. They are ecstatic to pledge their unwavering,mindless devotion to the [del] Golden Calf [/del] Orange Baboon.

I used to think that until that bit about dissing a dead serviceman’s family and the other about grabbing women by the pussy made no appreciable difference. Now I’m not so sure.

For me, I thought his mockery of a disabled reporter would be the end. I was wrong.

I also believe that he may commit suicide when/if the net starts to tighten. :eek: I seem to be the only person out there who does, and no, I don’t want this to happen.

I dislike this kind of hyperbole regardless of where it comes from. Naturally I tend to believe that Right-wingers are more likely to be guilty of it, but Lefties aren’t immune either, as the above post shows.

I have yet to meet any Right-wing person, and I know a bunch, who seriously proposed that Michelle Obama was transexual. That’s a really fringe kind of attack/belief, and to characterize all people on the Right as guilty of it simply makes the Left look out of touch with reality.

Sure, there were crazies who claimed that. But I doubt you can show me a mainstream cite indicating that it was routine on the Right to believe Michelle O was trannsexual.

That particular CT may not have been popular but other theories like Obama being a Muslim, Obama being foreign born, Obama being the antichrist were pretty popular among the right.

Assuming Trump actually said this (and it does sound like something he would say) it’s probably because he’s aware of the low morality and the blind-eyed devotion of the people who voted for him, and he’s mocking them for their foolishness.

No, as with everything Trump, he’s not mocking them, he’s glorifying himself. He’s saying “I’m so great that it doesn’t matter what I do everyone will continue to love me anyway”.

Alex Jones, whose show Trump happily went on, spread the Transexual rumor. Not fully mainstream but he received little criticism for it on the right after Trump was hobknobbing with the man.
