Why mommy is a Democrat.

Well, I’m pretty sure there’s nowhere near enough clearance for him to fit under mine…

Hey, c’mon, someone was sure to say it eventually.

Sure, but no more terrifying than say, Rick Santorum. Even the most rabidly partisan among us aren’t likely to find the Senate full of hotties.

Obama, call me!!!

Jiggling jowls of terror!!!

A far better children’s book is Clueless George Goes to War!

Is religious indoctrination bad and pretty cowardly of parents?

Obama is the only hottie.

And the rest of Capitol Hill needs a style advisor. The women THINK dressing like dowdy frumps exhudes an air of power, but in reality they look like a bunch of clueless losers who who live in homes without mirrors. HELLLLOOOO! They don’t have an ounce of chic between 'em.

YES!

Depends on who you ask. In my house, yes.

Oooh, a poll. I love polls. Mark me down as a “Yes”.

I agree. No way this book is meant to be serious. That site is only a shade more subtle than blackpeopleloveus.com. I think it’s hilarious.

It’s just your imagination. Ted Kennedy isn’t real. Now go to sleep.

That last page is particularly telling: “Democrats make sure everyone can go to school, just like mommy does!” Mommy’s still in school, and doesn’t have a husband? Hmm…

“Democrats: the part of unwed teenage mothers!”

Of course not. It is a duty owed to God and the children both.

But for instilling religious and political values, the best thing to do is to live up to them and set an example. Books like this aren’t a substitute for the hard work that this entails.

Dunkin Donuts coffee tastes better and costs less than Starbucks.

His 401K has real assets and isn’t a legalized Ponzi scheme.

Guns are shinier than butter.

NASCAR’s more entertaining than beat poetry.

Well, it would take some major effort on his part to get it to the nearest bridge, so I wouldn’t be TOO frightened…

Wow, I was afraid I would be the only Smartass that would answer yes.
Thanks El_Kabong and Kalhoun.

Jim {I mean it to, religious and Political indoctrination disturb me}

Democrats need an ass-kicking indoctrination book - like “Why Evil Mr. Crabtree Down the Street is a Republican.”

My preschooler came home talking about a kid in school with whom he’d been having some conflict. After describing him with several derogatory terms, he said “He’s such a … Republican!”

I did have a talk with him to try to clear that one up, but it is hard for many kids to understand that parents’ identify with one group, but that doesn’t make the other group evil. It’s particularly hard because you try to explain why you support one party over the other, and it reinforces the basic good/bad dichotomy. Frankly, I’m not sure many adults get past that point. There are secular factors as well: right now, most of the political discussions we have at home involve some discussion of some new wrongdoing or corruption on the part of a Republican. It’s hard for those who have no experience of previous times to understand that things are different right now.

Perhaps it’s because you are what you eat?

I was thinking “yawn”.
