I think Lemon-Lime Slice has been renamed Sierra Mist.
Sierra Mist replaced Storm. Slice has come in lemon lime, red, orange, grape at one time or another, depending on which market you are in.
LaCroix is a flavored seltzer water they sell at Kmart. Its not sweetened, and its good.
They have Lemon, Lime, Berry and plain. I like the Lime.
You guys don’t have Lift? It’s made by the Coca-Cola company here. Lemon drink, extreeeeemely refreshing on a hot day.
They also have something here called Solo, but that’s exclusively Australian I think. And they have Schweppes Traditional Lemonade.
You’re missing out.
I never knew Squirt was supposed to taste like grapefruit. My dad loves Squirt, so I’ve had many…never tasted any grapefruit. Hmmmm. Ditto for Fresca. Which I’ve seen in non-Diet, Lorene. Maybe we’re in different markets.
Now that I think about it, none of the citrus-based sodas I’ve ever had taste anything like the fruit they are supposedly based on. Sprite has nothing to do with lemon or lime, Dr. Pepper tastes nothing like prunes, and orange Slice has absolutely nothing to do with oranges, unless you count the lovely orange mustache it gives you.
And Big Red? Anybody know what the hell that’s supposed to taste like, other than crap?
I am not much of a pop person, but Lemon Soda is something else.
As GuanoLad says, Lemon Soda is made by the CocaCola company, as I recall from looking at the can, it is bottled in Milan.
We drank gallons of it the last time we were in Italy. Wonderful on a hot summer day. There is nothing else quite like it–certainly no American-made sodas come close.
Here in Denver, Colorado in the States, the “real” Lemon Soda is not to be found, but there are a few European varieties available which are good. I’ve seen them at Whole Foods, etc.
San Pellegrino makes a Limonata (also aruniciata–orange) which is quite tasty. I think you can get it online if it isn’t at your local store.
You can also get those Italian syrups for flavoring seltzer, I think I’ve seen those at Safeway. They have Orangina, too, a drink which I always thought was over-rated.
Lemon Soda rules.
You might try Sundrop, it’s a lemon based soft drink popular in parts of the South.
Wilson Farms as well as a few other places around here sells Tré Limon, which is a really nice little lemon soda.
What about Schweppe’s Lemon Sour? It’s slightly carbonated, lemony and quite tart. Very tasty, and the only carbonated thing I’ll drink. It’s sold everywhere around here, even in the grocery stores, but you won’t find it with the pop. It’s sold with the mixers, usually right next to the tonic water. One liter green plastic bottle with a yellow lable.
Well, seems to me you could just get a bottle of club soda, some lemon juice & sugar & mix…?
HEre is a photo of that lemon ‘soda’ from Minute Maid, plus their other products:

Wow…I’ve never seen any of the U.S.-made, lemon-based sodas you guys mention (although I do see Pellegrino Limonata occasionally, but it’s usually hideously expensive). I’m not a big fan of flavored seltzers; I do like some sugar in my soda, but I also like it to taste like a food actually found in nature, too. There are lots of fruit syrups in the Middle Eastern groceries around here, but I’v never seen lemon; it’s usually stuff like sour cherry, grenadine, tamarind, or various berry flavors. Maybe I’ll have to try making my own lemon syrup and bottling it; that way I can control the sugar level somewhat.
And Dr. Pepper is supposed to taste like prunes?

I’m fairly sure it’s a cream soda. It’s been a while since I had it, but that’s my recollection…
hrh
Dr. Pepper is supposed to taste like prunes?? Who thought up that one?
I’m glad Fresca is available in non-diet somewhere; I’ll have to keep looking.
All the Fresca I’ve ever seen has aspartame as the sweetener. Good for me, since just about all I drink is diet.
Try to find FANTA Lemon - just started appearing on the shelves last year around here, but I enjoyed it immensely in Spain & Portugal. It was available in almost every vending machine there, but I agree it can be hard to find here. Good Luck.
I’ve never heard of Lemon Sour, but your description sounds an awful lot like what i know as Schweppes Bitter Lemon, right down to the bottle and label colours. Canada Dry also makes a Bitter Lemon, which i buy from my local store when i need a soda fix. Both Schweppes and Canada Dry are brand names owned by Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc..
You forgot to mention that it’s obviously God’s own beverage, because it’s that good. (I grew up in one of the top 5 markets for Sun-Drop in the entire country.)
Personally, I think that it takes like malted battery acid, but to each their own…
