Why no warning labels on liquor?

Immoderate usage may require worship at the pocelain altar; ingestion of large dosages of analgesics; consultation with a lawyer; and may result in fates even more gruesome than the one just mentioned.

Warning: Excessive use of this product may result in children.

The runs, from drinking alcohol? I never heard of such a thing.

Of course, the classic alcohol warning would be:

Frequent use of this product may lead to frequent use of this product

One word: tequila

Apparently it may cause you to use inappropriate language in the wrong forum too. :smack:

I’ve just got to post:

WARNING: Consumption of this product may lead to the humiliation brought on by late night long distance phone calls to old girl friends.

I don’t think we require labels in Canada; we already know the effects.

Lots of us lived under that rock when we were college age, especially when given the first opportunities of our lives to seriously drink. Especially living on campus, many tend to think, “Well, I don’t have to drive anywhere, so I can drink as much as I want, no problem.” And a few of these people are the ones who get into trouble; though I don’t think accidental overdose of alcohol is the main cause of death among students, or even of suicide. At my university, there would be suicide cases now and then, usually by jumping off a building. Not surprisingly, we would hear about it in the morning, but all traces of the event would be long gone.
