Nicknames for the Beaver College sports teams, I think, should be:

I would like to point out that the beaver is the national symbol of Canada, the way the eagle is the symbol of the U.S. Beavers are admired for their industriousness and the fact they don’t kill anybody.
If you have a Canadian nickel, you’ll see that on one side there’s a picture of a beaver building a dam.
Quite frankly, I’ve never heard the word “beaver” used as a euphemism by a Canadian (and I’ve lived here in Canada for all 43 years of my life). Maybe somewhere out west…
Somebody want to explain to me why Beaver College has to change its name, but the Chubb Insurance Group gets to keep theirs? Two words: The Patriarchy.
We used to play football against Pittsburgh Middle School. And like all schools in our district, they yelled their school initials at the end of the school song. Can you imagine Jr. High and forced to yell out PMS every time your school song is played? (That’s Pittsburgh, Texas BTW.)
One year in my high school, a candidate for class president had the initials V.D., which her opponent did not shy from pointing out.
