Why do muslim scholars endlessly whine about the Crusades? I find it quite bizarre, because:
-the Crusades took place hundreds of years ago, the early ones almost 1000 years ago
-the Crusaders were reacting to a muslim/islamist invasion from Arabia (the Crusdaers had just as much right to the area as the arabs did)
-atrocities were committed by both sides
Plus, mohammed never said that Jerusalem was anyplace special-his “holy” city was mecca.
So why the endless whining about this long-in-the past events?
Where are you endlessly seeing this whining?
Why were you able to capitalize “Crusades”, “Crusaders” and “Jerusalem”, but not “muslim”, “mohammed” or “mecca”?
Because when you can’t get your stuff together its nice to be able to blame the past for your current problems.
Just what I thought.
Have nothing to add then?
Well assuming that was aimed at me.
Let me say your first post was pretty much what I expected from you for that matter.
What’s to add? I’m asking for evidence from the OP, and asking about the curious capitalization errors he made.
Yeah, you are curious. Just like conspiracy folks are “just asking questions”.
I suspect they view a bunch of Christians coming over and trying to take over the “Holy Land” as we do a bunch of Muslims taking over Spain.
Muslims believe that Mohamed ascended to heaven from Jerusalem, which would make it a pretty special place. It’s possible to have two holy places in one religion - or even three or four!
As for the rest of your post, I’m with Czarcasm: *where *is this “endless whining”?
Nope.
Not assuming claims of such nature without a smidgen of evidence, and noticing possible slurs disguised as grammatical errors? Yep.
The Spanish economy is pretty terrible right now. Some foreign investment would be nice.
I thought conspiracy folks were those that jumped on the bandwagon without asking to see any evidence, because they are told something they want to believe:
Your first response, I believe.
Well, one can define “endless” whining in many different ways.
But I’ll say this. When it comes to Muslims (well some small fraction of muslims with access to the media), I sure hear about the crusades a hell of a lot more than I suspect I should.
If all the Muslims in the world had been wiped out in 1776 I doubt I’d have heard about the crusades anymore once I left college, because I doubt many of the southern baptists around here would be reminding me of it.
Do you spend a lot of time reading Islamic scholarly periodicals or websites?
Whatever. Where are all these Muslims you are hearing it from?
edited to add: And why are you hearing it so often?
Man, you really are on top of things.
Your first response was accusatory snark under the guise of something something.
Mine was an actual statement of why I think the crusades are something someone is still bitching about way too long later. Yeah, its was simplistic and probably not politcally correct, but it way ahead of your insightful comment.
Uh the news? The internet?
The voices in my head don’t talk about this stuff you know.
And like the OP who ran off, you still haven’t provided any evidence to support the premise of this thread.
Got any?
Westerners act proud of their short memories, especially of things they should be ashamed of doing.
