Well, I think closing a thread because two or more posters are hijacking it is ridiculous. Give out a warning, tell the hijackers to stop and let people who are still interested post in the thread. In the thread I started, I was pretty surprised to see the moderator finally give his ruling, and then promptly closing the thread. What?? Maybe, just maybe some people would like to respond to that ruling.
Threads are started in this forum to respond to and question moderator rulings. In that thread’s case, the ruling had not even been made, and when it was, the thread was closed an hour later.
Oh, OK. How are we supposed to know that? Seems like that’s another problem-- threads being closed with no note at the end saying who closed it and why.
At any rate, some moderator closed the thread an hour after the ruling was made. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of a thread in ATMB about a moderator ruling. Now, it’s not the worst thing to happen in the world, but it just makes you wonder what is going through the mind of the person who closed the thread.
I am an American, and it is my shame that I say “zed” now. But it’s not my fault! The Thais think I’m saying C if I say Z when I spell my name. I have to say “zed.” Society has forced me into it. It’s society’s fault.
Which just adds to the weirdness. The thread was about a particular Mod’s actions. He was involved in the thread, engaging and explaining. And then as soon as he shares his decision, POOF, thread closed. If I were a Mod I was have deferred to Jonathan Chance. I think it was both heavy-handed and rude for another Mod to close that thread. Rude to both Jonathan Chance and we, the mere pawns.
My suggestion that that a Mod mistakenly took you to be the OP due to the tone of your post, is, I’d say, putting things in the best possible light.
