No problem. And yes, I understand there was a timing issue as Miller asks upthread. I posted the EST time stamp of my PM to you, 10-03-2012, 02:08 PM – a rough timeline tells me I opened my Pit thread about 3 to 4 hours after that, though I can’t be certain as the merger deleted the actual time of the post. But as you can see from that OP – quoted in this thread’s OP – I opened only after reading the instructions given to the first poll – “take it to the Pit.” I’d also note that at that time I was unaware of the other thread in ATMB on this topic. I mention that in the OP as well.
If you read my exchange with Miller you’ll notice that I wasn’t talking about SA at all, but rather Miller’sown claim vis-a-vis the content of my posts to the Paterno thread which he has since retracted.
You are correct, my mistake. In my defense, I never open a SA thread without a few stiff drinks first, so my judgment was understandably impaired. But the point I made still stands–the poll results were a forgone conclusion (but entertaining nonetheless). Obviously, the ONLY person who supports SA’s revolting position is SA himself.
Oh god no! That thread should go on until SA breathes his last breath. **RefFury, Bryan Ekers **and every other good samaritan who is willing to repeatedly hand SA his ass are doing a valuable public service. By continuing to prod him, they are effectively keeping him under house arrest since his obsession with defending child rape is apparently insatiable. Keeping him obsessively attached to his computer is far far better than closing the thread and having SA go out and engage in some of his other … hobbies.
I submit that if I’m going to be subjected to these kinds of vile and utterly ridiculous accusations that I be allowed to defend against them where they arise. Enola Gay is one of the most dishonest and reprehensible of the Paterno thread posters and I don’t believe it’s fair or just for him to be allowed to spout this kind of nonsense unchallenged.

Speaking as someone that has been literally scuba diving in that septic tank of a thread (which I thoroughly enjoy)…I must say that it just seems Miller thought it should be contained to one thread and that seems like a reasonable thing to do, I don’t see the issue on this one.
What’s the harm in having the two threads? Esp since they’re different, as pointed out. Merging the threads sure seems like a control-freak busybody move.
Many of us admire and respect a great deal all the time that moderators and administrators spend maintaining this site.
But things like this make it appear they don’t have anything better to do with their time.
