Why was the Twickster ATMB thread closed?

I’m left with no recourse but to doubt the sanity of any mod on this board, unless as I suspect, the service is not voluntary. I don’t know what you mods did to deserve this, but surely it is an argument in favor of the death penalty as a more humane punishment.

Dear Contributor: Thank you for your submission. We have reviewed it carefully, but we are returning it because it does not meet our needs at this time. Going forward, please consider your submissions more carefully as we are not interested in reading drivel.

Seems like less than ten percent of the threads in here are complaints of moderator action, despite this specifically being labeled and the place for complaints about moderator action.

Your objection seems unfounded.

Also, when the moderators deserve to be called out for inappropriate behavior, as in this case, I think it’s a great benefit to new members to know that’s a feature of board moderation up front.

But we already have a Pit!

ducks and runs.

I think there is a vast difference between questioning a moderator’s decision and “calling them out” in the manner I sometimes see in this forum. You might find this hard to believe, but showing just a little respect to the mods isn’t really considered to be a fault on most of the major message boards-in fact, on a majority of the more civilized boards it is required. In this forum I have seen moderators called “the worst ever”, posters demanding answers, and even posters demanding that certain moderators step down. Just try to find toleration of this type of behavior in what is supposed to be an “Intro” forum on, say, the top twenty message boards around.
BTW, when did it become popular to call those who dare support the moderators “ass-kissers”?

Would you like a cracker?

edited to add: I just went through the Big Boards site to get my info.
Where did you go to get yours?

What info is there in your post that also does not exist in mine? Or are you just being intentionally ignorant[sup]1[/sup]?

[sub]1. Moderator approved![/sub]

Oh dear, why I do declare!

There’s a “vast” difference between “you’re the worst ever” and what, exactly? A gold embossed formal letter written in caligraphy? Does the complainant need to be wearing a hair shirt at the time, or do you prefer the more formal top hat and monocle?

Given all his other postings in ATMB, I’ll go with “intentionally ignorant” for $500.00, Alex.

Not the right forum to continue this conversation with you.

Respect has to be earned. And your time as mod earned no such merits, for example.

I can see getting a little frustrated of a remedy is first sought out via PM or email and no answer is forthcoming(which isn’t the same thing as getting an answer that doesn’t go in your favor, btw). Of course, this doesn’t give the bystanders a chance to pick up pitchforks a toss in their favorite nasty quips.

  1. This is a false dichotomy. In terms you’d be more comfortable with, that means “it’s not an either-or” situation. I’d be glad to rephrase again if you need me to. Most people support some mods, dislike others and some base their comments on the actions of the mods. It’s only a very few of you who post ass-kisser crap, supporting the mods under any circumstances at all just like there are very few who post about how they hate the mods, no matter what they do.

  2. It’s not all of “those who dare support the mods” who post ass-kissing stuff, it’s you and your ilk who take any criticism of the mods, however tiny, however well deserved and turn it into a “Let’s see how much we can suck up to the mods while shrieking like a harpy on fire that the mods are treated worse than transvestite drug-dealers in a Turkish prison”-posting fest.

There are many posters who support the mods who don’t post ass-kissing threadshits. It’s you and a few others who do.

Wasn’t it a lack of respect by a mod towards a member that what started this two thread long train wreck?

Indeed, but only mods are worthy of innate respect, apparently.

There we have a difference of opinion. It would be nice to have a place to discuss this difference of opinion in a civil manner, would it not?

Or, y’know, privacy, given the insistence by Czarcasm that all complaints about mods should be handled privately, even though the actions of the mods were public.

Not what I said at all, of course.

Some posters seem to want to see a punishing, disciplining, admonishing or whatall of moderators by higher-ups to be done in public. Does this work out, or even happen, on other major message boards?
