God does not exist, and hence the Jews were not chosen. The OP’s question is based on a false premise.
Cite?
Read the wiki page on Yahweh and it gives a pretty good account of how a local “divine warrior” was successively promoted to being a national god, then a universal god, then denying that all other gods existed.
Yahweh was the local god of the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judah, so of course they were the chosen people. Has any tribe every created a religion where they weren’t the chosen people?
But the book where both God and the chosen jews does, and can therefore be discussed on its own merits without any supernatural inferences required.
This is threadshitting. That religious beliefs are held and not held is obvious to anyone reading this forum. The question is obviously asked in the context of belief, so your post provides nothing for the discussion.
Knock it off.

That said, are you taking this discussion somewhere?
Posting a bunch of vaguely related verses with no actual discussion of how you intend them to relate to the OP is not helpful.

Uh, Annie’s right. They were chosen, because they wrote the books.
Yep. See post #18.
I find it interesting that my post is threadshitting while “The Jews made up the story so obviously they are the protagonists” is not, when they are stating exactly the same thing. Nevertheless I’ll simply bow out of this one.
Declaring a reason for the specific writing by pointing to the authors of the work differs from declaring that the question is pointless because there cannot be any foundation for the claim. If you cannot recognize that distinction, then you probably should stay out of such discussions.
One supposes with Moses the prose is pro-woeses
Disposed to grow noses Pinocchio-usly
Modern-day schmoeses opposes, exposes
But those us God choses did all goeses free.
I believe in recycling.
They were chosen to show us the way, to show us how to treat the stranger, how to be compassionate and loving to your neighbor and by doing so peace would envelope the world.
With that premise in mind I looked at the past and present to determine if they are complying with His suggestions
Sadly I have found that they are not; now please prove me wrong (:-
And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brothers, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brothers. And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Why smite you your fellow?
Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelled in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.
This marks the great EXIDIOUS
(Exo 12:21 KJV) Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and **kill the passover. **
(Exo 12:22 KJV) *And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. *
The Lord I know would not condone the killing of anything, sense He created it all.
The term “hate” or “kill” is not in the Lord’s vocabulary
(Exo 12:23 KJV) For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he* seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts**, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. *
(Exo 12:24 KJV) *And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. *
(Exo 12:25 KJV) And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
(Exo 12:26 KJV) *And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? *
(Exo 12:27 KJV) *That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD’S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
*
(Exo 12:28 KJV) *And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. *
(Exo 12:29 KJV) And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD* smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt**, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. *
LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,.,.,.,.Not the Lord I know, He forbids killing and not a doer of (
(Exo 12:30 KJV) And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
Believe me, the Lord is no destroyer.,. such crapolla
Yes, yes, we all know the story. What’s your point?
My point is is that this is a time line of one specific people. Where the timeline begins way before Jesus was born. In my recollection Jesus actually read the Old Testament.
My point is, if you follow the time line to the here and now nothing has changed. Killing children has become a sport
