Not sure of the provenance of this artwork… but pretty funny, regardless.
Heh. Made me giggle.
But I’m going to say that it is most likely fake. The handwriting looks too clean, like it was affected.
Still, definitely cute.
Funny, but totally fake.
Or why you should never let big sis help with your homework: My sister had to write a few sentences about what she wanted to be when she grew up and why. She was maybe six or seven. She writes:
I want to be a ______ because I want to help people feel better.
“Lorax, how do I spell pediatrician?”
“P-R-O-S-T-I-T-U-T-E”
Conan O’Brien, I believe.
I don’t get it. First of all the shovel looks like an Axe.
What people are giving Mommy money?
So Mommy selling shovels and working hard for her money? That’s a bad thing?
Markxxx, that’s a good thing if that’s what you see as it’s what the child artist intended. It also though looks a lot like Mommy is a stripper workin’ the pole and male patrons are ready to stuff bills down her drawers. That’s what drives the chuckle.
IF a kid actually drew that I’d bet money that mommy is a stripper and not selling shovels or axes at hardware store.
The kicker isnt all the dollar bills the guys are holding. Look at mommy’s curvy back. Thats a small detail a kid would notice in a strip joint, but most likely not while fully dressed selling shovels.
In the comment section an elementary art teacher mentioned the same thing. I’m just not seeing it. In fact, I think it’s more likely that a kid would draw a slightly curvy line than a perfectly straight one.
That said, I still think it’s fake. Amusing, but fake.
A little kid who really draws stick figures would make a much messier drawing. There would be all sorts of stuff around (if my kids are anything to go by), some scribbles, a lightsaber or horse, etc. Meanwhile, the lettering is that of a person who is at least 12.
Dagnabbit, double post.
I think this is more legit, and equally hilarious: Mind out of the Gutter, people! « It’s Not All Mary Poppins
Heh don’t get out much do ya?
Ah I didn’t get the stripper pole thing. My brain thought of something more like King Kong standing on top of a building holding a flag pole.
But I admit that doesn’t make much sense.
It’s the dollar signs. No kid that draws that way would know how to make dollar signs on money.
Remember boys and girls, be careful, because like your mother always warned, you can put your eye out with one of those things
Yes, clearly photoshopped.
Not to overanalyze or anything but hey… it’s friday.
If a kid drew it he obviously got the scale right with a lot of things except the shovel (coincidence?)
Why are all the customers men (coincidence?)
The kid’s drawing method of objects like the shovel and the money was to make an outline then color it in. Why not draw the edge line of the shovel? Leaving it open ended makes it look more like a purposeful, adult method of making look like the ambiguous bottom of the stage (coincidence?)
I learned at an early age not to run with one.
