WhyNot, R.N.

Congrats!
Can you come over and help me sew up the dog?

Congrats.

If I knew where you lived and where you were going to work I would get you the greatest gift of all… take out menus from everywhere nearby that has late night (or better yet ALL night) delivery.

As it is, I can only offer my congratulations, and a suggestion… write down stuff that happens in the first few months… it goes by in a blur but after all your nursing school the learning is just starting.

Drop me a line here or on my email anytime if you want to ask stuff/bitch/ comiserate/ whatever. Cheers!

You will be a fantastic nurse, I just know it. Congratulations, WhyNot, R.N.!

hellooooooooo NURSE!

good lord, my boyfriend has completely corrupted me. Now I’m making animaniacs references. :smack:

Congrats! Wishing you luck and joy in your new career!

Congrats! I got my card a couple weeks ago (75 questions, woo hoo! and yes I flipped when the test cut off).

Now I gotta get a job… Ugh.

I’m a nurse, and I’ll be happy to say that pantyhose are bad for Anne Neville.

Congrats. There can never be enough nurses.

Congrats WhyNot! You’ll be an awesome nurse.

Congratulations!!

Happy For You! I am starting nursing school in September!!!
Yayyyy!
Am so addicted to allnurses.com

Hey, congratulations!

To the OP, did you take NCLEX in Schaumburg? I was there to drop of my fiance for her test. (she passed too).

Anyway, congrats!

Nope, I took it downtown, in the Loop. Schaumburg was definitely an option (heck, I looked for test sites up in Wisconsin, even!) but the earliest date I could get was the Loop location.

Anne Neville, I don’t recall exactly what I told you about pantyhose, but I’m sure it was something about increasing the frequency and duration of UTI’s, yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis, so yeah, pantyhose (can be) bad for you, sure.

Ah, ok. Thought I may have passed a doper in the hallway without realizing. Heh.

Good job! Good to hear this, WhyNot!

Word. Be very, very aware that right now, unless you are very mindful of what you don’t know, you can be dangerous. The urge to prove how independent you are can be very strong, and can get you and patients into trouble.

That being said…congratulations! Hope you are gainfully employed soon!

Oh, yes! I’m more terrified of being an RN than proud of it! I don’t really feel like I know much more than the first day I sat in my first class. The idea that I could be responsible for someone’s life right now is ludicrous. I will be making good use of my proctors, for sure. And the CNAs. All hail the CNAs!

**picunurse **shared that bit of wisdom with me once before, when I was freaking out about the responsibilities and my “but I don’t KNOW anything!” state of mind, and it’s been a lifesaver. I’ve shared it with a bunch of my classmates, and it really helped them calm down, too. I’ve also shared it with experienced RNs, who smile and say it’s absolutely accurate. I think we need it on a bumper sticker!
