Occasionally I have some pretty strange ones. Here are a few samples:

“It’s coming through the window!”

One recurring dream used to be where I was in my bedroom laying on my back in bed (it was always my current bedroom, not the same one every time). The foot of the bed faced the window, and a sudden gust of wind would blow the windows open. The curtains would stream into the room from the window, while outside it was dark, with debris from the wind blowing about.

I’m not certain why, but the above dream terrified me. I’d wake up immediately and try to scream, but my body wans’t awake yet, so it took a few seconds before I could make a sound. By the time I was fully awake, I was too scared to utter a sound.

The last time I had that dream I wasn’t as frightened and walked over to the window to look outside and see what was going on. I had those dreams starting at age 4 until I was 22. I had the last dream of that type when I was stationed in Germany, during my first enlistment in the Air Force.

“Excuse me, sir, but there appears to have been a mistake!”

I had this dream only once, but I can’t figure out if it was a nightmare or not. When I tried to tell someone else about it, even I had to laugh. I was getting ready to re-enlist for the first time, and in the dream the paperwork had been screwed up and I was sent to Marine basic training. I kept telling them I was supposed to be in the Air Force, but they kept ignoring me.

“Jesus, is that you?”

I had this dream only once, shortly after I arrived at my present location, in the western edge of tornado country. In the dream there was a huge storm outside, so I went to the door to watch. It was one of those storms where the cloud-to-cloud lightning was so rapid, it lit up the sky continuously. The main cloud was due east, and looked more like a column of smoke with flames shooting up inside it to a height of several thousand feet.

A beam of light speared out from the main cloud and began sweeping about, as if it were searching. It swept around swiftly, until it was pointing straight at my face, blinding me. I asked aloud “Jesus, is that you?” and immediately felt as if I had been caught up towards the light.

That’s when I woke up.

“It worked just a minute ago!”

I had this dream only once. In it, I was walking through a wrecking yard, and discovered that I had the power of telekinesis. As I picked things up with the power of my mind, I could feel something “flexing” in the back of my skull whenever I exerted the power.

The dream was so convincing that when I woke up I spent 20 minutes staring at a bic lighter, willing it to move. It didn’t budge, so eventually I went and had breakfast instead.

Even if you think you know the secret of the universe, you’re probably wrong.

There are more, but I’d like to give others a chance to share their dreams or analyze these.

It’s more important to understand than it is to agree.
