Don’t ask why, but I’ve never had a password associated with my home WiFi. Dumb, I know. That said, where/how do I add one. I’ve got a Windows 7 PC and a Motorola router.
Thanks.

Most routers have an internal web-browser interface that is reached by pointing the browser to the router’s IP address, usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, or something similar - it should be in the instruction book, perhaps printed on the bottom of the router, or somewhere in your internet settings as “gateway address.” There’s usually a username and password required, and the default is usually something like “admin” and “password.” You should change this in addition to activating WiFi security - WPA2-PSK [AES] is what I use.
Unfortunately, neither the router (Motorola SURFboard SB6141) or the pamphlet that came with it has any set of numbers that resemble an IP address.
Motorola SURFboard SB6141 is not a router it is a cable modem. It has no wifi. You must have a different box that is connected to this.
You want the address of the Router.
Here’s how to do it for Vista, it’s probably the same for other windoze versions:
DUH!
