Just wanted a place to share this.
“This article is about the 1982 massacre. For the 1985–88 events, see …”
Anyone seen others?
(It’s okay to be funny too.)

It would be nice to have a freaking link or something to know WTF you are talking about.
But I’m new here…
It was more the depressing part of following a link to something and discovering in a sort of oblique way that there wasn’t just one, but two massacres that might be referred to. I guess context-free it is a bit hard to follow.
It’s the sort of situation that I can imagine a century or so from now someone looking up “World War 20th Century” and getting a result like “This article refers to the events of 1939-1945 in which people were slaughtered by the millions. For the events of 1914-1918 in which millions of people died, see …”
Oh. Got your reference now.
Thanks.
I actually ran across this the other day
Yes. There was more than one.
The less famous incident was the 1927 murder of six striking coal miners by police and/or company security guards.
If you search up,“The Straight Dope” on wikipedia, it says- “Did you mean dope (drug).”
This isn’t Wikipedia, but I am reminded of all the news articles about the search for the bodies of the 43 disappeared students in Mexico that began “a mass grave was found but it turned out to be the wrong mass grave.”
I have completely forgotten the exact horrible disease, but once I was looking up details on something I had seen in a news story.
I typed in XXX syndrome or whatever , and got back
XXX syndrome
Pediatric XXX syndrome
Fetal XXX syndrome
I don’t know how you’re doing your search, but it should take you directly to the article for The Straight Dope. It doesn’t have a hatnote for Dope (drug) for two reasons: someone wouldn’t search “The Straight Dope” if they were looking for information on drugs, and there’s no article or redirect at Dope (drug).
Did you mean some other website?
