First- how do you know they lied and weren’t mistaken? Second- how do you know that the information the State Dept used to make the changes didn’t come from the intel community? And third- why is it particularly important who made changes to talking points? If this is the scandal, it’s a pretty pathetic scandal.
There’s no evidence of military misconduct. So Congress is fishing. Our tax dollars at work.
Yeah, and Bill Clinton took some hits to his polls during the leadup to impeachment. Undoubtedly many Americans disapproved of his handling of Monica Lewinsky. How’d that turn out for the Republicans (and for Bill’s polls afterwards)?
I don’t care too much about the Benghazi situation in its current form, but I am entertained by the folks who insist elections are an adequate check on government power and nothing bad can ever happen because we will just vote out the bad guys. These are the same people who aren’t the least bit concerned when a (Democratic) public servant plays political games with the truth. These are the people who should be pushing for transparency because their entire theory of government depends on it. Instead they out themselves as nothing more than partisan hacks.
It’s amazing to see how far the goalposts have been moved.
“Obama killed four Americans in Benghazi!”
“Well, he didn’t kill them, but he didn’t send help either!”
“Well, he sent help, but he didn’t send help fast enough!”
“Well, he sent help as fast as he could have, but he didn’t call it ‘terrorism’!”
“Well, he called it terrorism, but he minced words in his press release!”
I’m beginning to wonder if the GOP thinks Romney will somehow retroactively have won the election if only they keep up on this until they find a “gotcha ya” somewhere buried beneath the bullshit.
I realize Congress didn’t do its job during the Bush administration and the first two years of the Obama administration so maybe you aren’t used to seeing what oversight looks like. It looks like what you’re seeing now.
Would have been nice, but it’s not as if the public didn’t “reward” Bush with the approval rating he deserved, as well as severely punish his party in two straight elections.
I was about to say that Obama’s headed for the same endgame, except that he had to go and take exactly the right stance on the IRS scandal. That’ll bump up his popularity. Can never bash the IRS too much.
Bullshit. What’s the name of the drive in theater with the giant picture of the rampant, triumphant, and victorious Baylor Bear? The name of the big park? The name of the ginormous 23 story skyscraper in greater metropolitan Waco?
And finally, if you are in Waco…why?
Go back home to Odessa. If God were going to give Texas an enema, that’s where He’d stick the nozzle.
