Will Eastwood's RNC performance influence his new movie's Box Office

I’ll see an Eastwood movie or a Polanski movie or a Gibson movie if they’re good movies. By all accounts, Trouble With the Curve wasn’t, so I didn’t. If he came out with another Gran Torino (which I liked) or Letters from Iwo Jima (which I liked a lot) I’d line up to see it.

*Trouble with the Curve * was on last night when I was looking for something to watch. I thought “that old fucker?” when I saw Clint was in it. Ended up watching some anyway because Amy is just so damned cute.

So yes, Clint’s DNC appearance, and maybe his age and his last couple of movies too, have caused me to discount him where I wouldn’t have in the past. I didn’t go from loving him to hating him because the his DNC antics, I went from lukewarm to tepid.

Who are you, Fox News? He was at the RNC.

Oops, you are correct. Fox News must be taking over my brain.

Replace ‘football’ with ‘golf’ and you’ve got it in one.

Nothing about the RNC speech surprised me. His politics have been known for a while, along with his lack of comedic talent. What he did at the convention was stupid, but not offensive in my mind. He’s not Roman Polanski.

Another vote for not seeing his movie because I had not heard anything about it that sounded like it was a movie I wanted to see and for that reason alone.

His RNC bit was sad and funny in ways it did not mean to be, but hateful? Nah. Pathetic, yes.

It was more shocking than anything else to see someone who youve always thought of as model of virility and strength and intelligence suddenly be revealed as doddering, weak, and confused.

I don’t need to agree with the politics of those who entertain me. If they are scum I don’t want to give them my money even indirectly, but nothing that Eastwood did showed him to be that. Just as pathetic.
