My current nightmare that either Ivanka or Donald Jr will declare their candidacy for POTUS in 2024. I’m just not sure which one of them will head the ticket.
That would leave the next 4 years to keeps 45’s name a live with constant revisionist historical accounts of how much better things were.
I just don’t see them going quietly back to their previous lives of business and social hob-knobbing.
I would hope that we’ve learned a lesson about hiring a plumber to wire your house.

They never had a life of business and social hobnobbing; it’s really just the social hobnobbing that they do. I mean, grifters don’t exactly have jobs, ya know what I’m sayin’?
I can certainly see either, or both, talking about it, forming committees, and using the idea to fleece MAGAts out of donations.
Assuming that they aren’t already in the process of being tried for criminal activity (or already convicted) by mid-to-late 2023, I think that they’d likely drop out of the race – they saw first-hand how close the scrutiny was of their father’s activities, and I have no doubt that they both have very large skeletons in their closets that they would rather not have examined too closely.
Don Jr. seems to be trying to position himself as the firebreathers’ choice for Spiritual Successor in the current tantrumregnum. Ivanka and Jared were playing it cooler but may have hurt themselves by being perceived as trying to talk the Prez down.
Don Jr will run on making coke/crack legal.
Almost certainly someone with the Trump name will run again. Will it be a serious run that goes very far? I doubt it. But they’ve got a massive list of suckers to get donations from and self-dealing they can spend it on.
I think whatever people liked in Trump isn’t transferable to any of his kids. So my guess is that neither Don Jr nor Ivanka get anywhere with their candidacies.
I guess it depends on whether the old tanTrump is still alive and out of prison or not. If he is still alive and out of prison he will try and run himself, if he is dead of natural causes one of the two will try, if he is alive and in prison they will have other worries. Hell, in this last case they may be in prison themselves!

Apparently, going back to that life will be difficult. Who would have guess that supporting someone who wants to withhold a vaccine from your friends would make it hard to keep those friends.
It would be fun to see them try, but they would probably be among the first candidates to drop out.
Four years is a lot of time for lawsuits and investigations to muster.

The way these Super PAC seem to run the appeal of setting up a shrouded in secrecy funding organization and not having to actually win would seem irresistible.
Ivanka could run for the Senate in 2022. 34 seats will be contested. She’d have a good chance of winning against a weak candidate. Then run for the White House in 2024. The strategy worked for Obama.
It’ll be interesting to see if she and Jared create a residency in a state with a vulnerable Senator that’s up for election in 2022.
