Will Flight Sim 2002 run on my computer?

Okay, I’ve looked at Microsoft’s minimum specs, so I know it’ll run, but what I want to know is if it will run well.

Here’s the skinny on my system:
Dell Inspiron laptop
PIII 800 mhz
256 mb
ATI Rage Mobility 128 card.
Plenty of hard disk space, so I’m not worried about that.
It’s mostly the RAM and video card that I’m worried about. And of course there may be something that I’m not even thinking of.

Anyone have any experience with this program? I want the full effect, I don’t want to have to turn every option off to get it to run smoothly.

And you probably don’t care if you can land or take off with it either.

I think you are correct in that it depends on your video card. Shouldn’t have much trouble with an 800mhz processor.

Microsoft seems to have been smart, and listened to the complaints about the previous flight sim. It’s not as buggy, and doesn’t seem to take as much processing power to run. Although I’m using a faster processor than you, I find that MS Flight Sim 2002 runs more smoothly than 2000 did on the same machine.

If you do try it, you may not be able to put the graphics up to the highest levels, but I suspect it will work.

I wrote a review of the program a few days ago if you’re interested:
