Regarding automatic versus stick, all I can say is that I know this board frowns on anecdotal evidence and let it go at that.

That’s fine, we don’t need to derail this into a manual vs automatic debate (I’m a manual transmission guy myself.) But my statement was not “wrong” in any way.
Ouch. Boy is that ugly. But go for it. If you can get a chick and drive a vehicle like that you will know that she really loves you for who you are and not just what you’re driving.

Exactly. Be who you are. If you’ve always wanted that vehicle, go for it. The girl who falls for you will the girl who was meant to fall for you, and she’ll love you despite, or perhaps because of your [del] color blindness / horrible taste / alien viewpoint / bizarre obsession with old movies / comfort with looking like a velociraptor / general weirdness [/del] bold sense of style.
I’m actually serious. I wouldn’t get that car, but I truly appreciate the awesomeness of it.
There actually were tests performed that showed that women find guys with expensive cars sexier than others.
I also seem to remember one that had to do with deeper motors connecting with arousal in females, but I can’t find it.
Because it’s only if it’s obvious that you are trying that it is a turn off. And even then it’s only a general statement, and doesn’t cover all eventualities. It’s mostly good advice for an amateur.

Well, nothing’s more alluring than a guy trying to actually answer a question that was only posed as a joking lame-ass attempt at flirting on a mostly-anonymous message board.

It’s not really that surprising, when you think about it; two words: hill start.
Automatics are really well respected and represented in the serious off-road community for all the reasons listed above. They have their place, and are better than manuals in many situations.
But there’s no way this jeep is a chick magnet. I was just at the one pictured above (Universal Studios) and there weren’t chicks hanging all over it, trust me.
The only time an automatic has a big advantage is crawling through very slow technical rocky sections where you need to use all three pedals and low range. Otherwise, it’s just what you prefer to drive. A hand throttle can even up the advantage some though. An ATV is better off road than either transmission in a Jeep, which is why mine doesn’t see heavy off road duty anymore.

That’s a lie. An expensive car WILL impress girls, if you don’t mind banging the kinda girls that like a guy just because of what kind of car he drives.
Muscle cars are sexy! Beemer dudes are usually stuck on themselves or so anal they have to correct spelling… 
Insert finger in throat. Guys in Jeeps are rare in my area because of the long winters. If I do see one it is usually a young kid or a man that refuses to grow up. That is not a bad thing at my age!
But the hum of a big motor … Gets me every time.
