Self-explanatory
Obviously it will, but has anyone tried it, did it take longer to perk you up- and yes, I’m clearly a man who’s not grossed out by much.
Try chocolate and The Dew combination instead.
You won’t have that gritty aftertaste.
Or chocolate-covered espresso beans. A friend who worked in a coffee shop made the best batch I ever had for a cross-country drive…he roasted all the coffee to order, so he could do whatever he wanted.
mrAru was more the 3 spoons of instant coffee into the can of mountain dew type when he was going through nuke school lo these 21 years ago=)
This is funny. I actually did that last week.
I came home from a long car ride and had little sleep the night before. I was miserable and tired but I was having some company and needed a quick wakeup.
So, I got a teaspoon, filled it with coffee mix and chased it down with water. I did this twice and I was perked up within about fifteen minutes. I was skeptical and asked the same question the OP did right after I took it. It does work but it’s a lot easier to drink. Unfortunately, I did not have the time.
When I was in air cadets, we used to take the instant coffee out of our IMPs (Canadian army rations) and 1-3 packs of sugar.
Combine, shake, attempt to drink… Gotta do it quick, like a shot of tequila, otherwise… bad things happen.
I was never actually able to do it (I’ve never been able to take shots of alcohol, water, anything) but everyone else was able to. Everytime I tried, I came close to vomiting.
But it worked. Those kids were wired.
You’re talking about instant coffee, right? So it’s already been extracted and you’re just asking the difference between disolving it in water beforehand, or not?
For those not fortunate enough to have pre-extracted coffee around. On a related note, how similar is the caffeine you’d get from ground coffee- eating it vs extracting it? I’d guess it depends on how much caffeine is extracted by the water (drip coffee makers extract less than espresso makers) and how much your body would absorb. Also, peak levels may be very different- if it takes your body longer to digest the coffee (grounds) than absorb extracted caffeine in the coffee (drink).
