Will it be worth my while to see AVATAR in 3D...

I’ll join the chorus of glasses-wearers who saw it with the 3D glasses over my regular glasses. The 3D glasses at the IMAX were bigger and better than the regular theater glasses. It’s a pain but it still worked. One of these days I would like to see about getting prescription 3D glasses. I wonder if such a thing exists.

Sure it’ll be worth it. Unlike some people in this thread, I think the movie is fantastic*, and would even have made a worthy Oscar winner (though I’m not unhappy with The Hurt Locker winning, and I was rooting for Inglorious Basterds). I’ve seen it 3 times, twice in 3D, regular and IMAX) and once in 2D, which I saw because C can’t see 3D. I thought the story and characters were perfectly in service to the movie. Pandora is still beautiful and interesting in 2D, and it will still be beautiful and interesting on a smaller screen, just not anywhere near as WOWZA! as on the big screen and in 3D.

I’m not going into the ‘Avatar is Bad’ thread, not even going to open it up to read the OP. Not gonna do it, it’ll just piss me off.

I saw it in 2D and, having not seen anything in 3D since Flesh For Frankenstein in 1973, went and saw Alice In Wonderland in 3D last weekend just to check out the technology, which I expected would be ho hum. I regretted not seeing Avatar in 3D because, while Alice In Wonderland was OK, Avatar it is not but the 3D technology is awesome.

I wear trifocals that normally I wear while watching movies, however I didn’t bother wearing them under my 3D specs after experimenting during the 3D shorts.
