Will Marco Rubio run for reelection to the senate?

Ha!

And that is what is wrong with politics today. Party before country.

Bolding Mine.

I asked what you think he’d *do *for us, besides be a Republican. Is this your way of saying Nothing?

More maverickiness and temper tantrums, and less Romneycare? Not hardly. On the other side, Grayson would be the Dem McCain.

Yes, he was a Republican until very recently.

There is no reason to believe Rubio actually wants a future that he has to work for.

I can only assume he wants to be President because he thinks it will help him get elected Pope.

Grayson is the worse candidate. I did say I’d support Murphy over Rubio.

But sure, you’re right. Some day the Democrats will nominate someone totally unacceptable while the Republican will be quite well qualified. And most Democrats will scream “Supreme Court!” as a rationalization to vote for the Democrat anyway.

Boy, I just jinx every candidate I say nice things about this cycle:

Turns out Patrick Murphy is nowhere near as impressive as I thought. Basically, he lied to me and the voters. He’s actually done pretty much nothing.

Rubio it is for me.

Murphy is on this NYT list of rising young Democrats, FWIW: Opinion | 14 Young Democrats to Watch - The New York Times

I’d make that a was. This is looking like another Fitzgerald situation.

What has Rubio ever done for you?

Rubio has been an unremarkable Senator who has generally voted the way I want and has not had any scandals. I’ll take it until something better comes along.

When he showed up at all, you mean?

Find me a better guy. Murphy is no longer that guy. He’s just another guy who can’t succeed on his own so he gets into politics. We shouldn’t be electing guys for whom the private sector is just too hard, at least not if we can avoid it. Rubio of course has no private sector experience either.

Grayson’s ex accuses him of long-running domestic abuse. This could be a game changer.

And he gets into it with a reporter right at the convention. And loses his Big Left endorsements. ISTM it just ensures it’s cleanly Rubio v. Murphy. I’d think that more of an issue would be how much the wounding of Wasserman-Schultz may weaken the Florida Democrats (cue in: conspiracy theory about this being Debbie’s payback to the Left for her whacking).

Murphy’s damaged too, the Miami Herald did a serious number on him that I believe I posted a couple months back.

Rubio appears to be coasting to reelection.

Patrick Murphy is actually a family friend of mine, so take my comments with a grain of salt, but I quite like the guy. He is what he seems like - an aristocrat politician who is doing this to put meaning in his life. If elected, he will do as the party requires of him.

I believe that. Murphy is also my representative. He’s a good public servant. But when you get caught seriously padding your resume, which for me was his primary selling point, that’s gonna hurt. and sure enough, the polls have shown major movement towards Rubio. Murphy might not even beat Grayson at this point.

Murphy has plenty of opportunity to rehabilitate himself and run for higher office again in the future. He’ll probably return to Congress in 2018.

The polling is looking solid for Rubio, which is good for the GOP, because they were set to lose Florida without him.

(A) Polls have him only a couple of point, some within MOE, over a guy who has barely even campaigned yet.
(B) What do you mean by “losing Florida”? Trump is going to do that himself and drag the rest of the ticket down, not up.
© A Dem Senate looks like more of a lock every day, so how is FL going to be better off with a Rep Senator that no one respects?

Carry on.
