I figured admins and mods wouldn’t have the answer; I was just wondering if you could tell us whether TPTB are aware of our request, whether they’ve said anything official about it, whether they’re going to say anything official, etc.

Agreed, I was upset that this was closed. It’s unfortunate that the first SDMB Official to come into the thread was on the third page. However, it is nice to know that someone is watching.
I can’t offer anything of value either when it comes to solutions or say what’s going to happen. But I’ll say that the Big Cheeses are aware of the comments and sentiments being expressed here.
No offense, but BFD. As has been pointed out time and time again, the membership has volunteered many, many, many, many different ways that this board could bring in more money, and the attitude from TPTB was always this high handed, “We know what we’re doing, and we’re going to do it our way, so don’t even bother suggesting anything.” I know it, you know it, they know it, so telling us that they’re aware of how we feel, just does diddlysquat for me. If Ed throws out a list of things that they’re going to try, along with dates at which the changes will be implimented, and the changes actually happen, then, and only then will saying that “TPTB are aware” be significant, IMHO.
No offense taken, Tuckerfan, I know I’m not saying anything worth applauding. But Hostile Dialect wondered if TPTB were aware of the request for comp time and other issues of concern. I can’t say what’ll happen, but the answer is yes, they are aware.

I’m going to say Thank You at least for the extension on subscriptions. It’s a small step that says at least TPTB are trying to take our complaints somewhat seriously.

And now that I know about checking my User CP for subscribed threads, I can use that to keep up on mine. But I’m curious. Five minutes between searches, but no time limit on refreshing the subscribed threads in User CP; how is it that that’s not a problem?
The User CP button uses a different program and probably a special User Logical view that makes the specific repetitive search very simple.
Not really all that happy.
