This thread in GQ: Do armpits damage cloth?, has probably been well answered several times over the years.
It’s far more convenient to dig up pre-sifted refs to sweat acids and body oils within the confines of GQ, than it is to re-vet the piles of conflicting information found on the rest of the internet.
Bring back search functionality ASAP. It is annoying to not have it.
If you are complaining, and you can’t stand hearing someone else say, “I think your complaint is meritless” then you shouldn’t be on a message board, I’m thinking.
I’m thinking that it’s pretty clear that CarnalK doesn’t object to what QED is saying but rather where he is saying it.
I care not one whit about getting comped. The money spent is absolutely insigificant. The board is sinply starting to suck too much for my effort to use it.
Why does it matter where he is saying it? The thread is in this forum because it is about this board. The opinion was expressed in this thread. Where else is he supposed to express it?

It doesn’t matter to me. Personally, I find the whole issue to be amusing as hell. I was just trying to clarify is all. CarnalK seems to think that it’s unseemly to criticize a poster’s complaint about the board outside of the Pit.
Really? Why don’t you go find that Google crack in this thread and point it out to me? When search functionality comes back, why don’t you go find more than, say, two or three Google cracks that I’ve ever made, despite the massive amounts of threads I have posted to in the last four and a half years that also had Q.E.D. in them?
I’m quite concerned about it, actually. That tone isn’t intentional. There’s nothing much more to say about that except that I apologize if you’ve gotten that vibe from my posts. (You seem not to be the only one. Eh, I’m working on it.)

Actually, I hadn’t thought that until you suggested it. ETA: My second challenge in this thread still stands. If someone would like to find more than three or four (was it 2-3? I don’t recall) instances of me calling Q.E.D. anything like “a Google-boy” (your words, not mine) despite the uncountably massive number of opportunities I’ve had to do so in four and a half years, I’m all ears.

(As for the other stuff, it occurs often enough for me to find it ironic that you called someone else on being jerky. I don’t feel any real need to try and prove it to you. You can feel free to disregard what I say as the ravings of a cranky poster or you can examine your posting style and make changes as you see fit. Either way is fine by me. I don’t even have the ghost of a hair of a dog in this fight, but the “google crack” thing made me go, “…whut?” Obviously I missed something. So, my curiosity piqued, I went back through this whole entire depressing thread.
You cannot deny that in this post, you did in fact use the word “Google” in a sentence. And–this thread contains Q.E.D.! Ha! Busted!

I know Hostile Dialect has referred to Q.E.D. as Captain Google before and has made references to googling to be the first to post with an answer. There’s not really anything in this thread except for the comment about cutting back on free memberships which on its own doesn’t seem like much but with Qadgop’s post above it…
Maybe I just don’t like Hostile and I’m reading stuff into situations where it doesn’t exist. Who knows. Does that satisfy? 'Cause it’s gonna have to.
