News is, Fox gave the go-ahead for a US version, to take place in LA. Will prudish anti-everything unhealthy for you Americans go for a show about two smoking booze hounds with nothing better to do?
Roseanne owned it for awhile, IIRC, but at the time the network was too chicken to actually do it. The closest we got was Cybill, which was a watered down ripoff.
It was called High Society. Didn’t make it. Did watch it. Didn’t think much. Must use more pronouns.

A show about smoking, booze, and hounds? No thanks. It sounds too rednecky for me.
There may be & it will be crap compared to the original. I welcomed the death of the Rosanne project, considering the quality of her version of the great “Life and Loves of a She-Devil”.
It might be crap. I haven’t seen the US version of the Office, but I hear it’s pretty good. I’ll wait and see who they cast. They’re bringing in the original series creator.
Even if it does turn out funny, I’m not sure enough Americans are as prepared to laugh. The original show did fairly well here, but then it wasn’t played on a major network where you need high ratings.
