That depends on who is doing the adding. The BLS does that but most agencies no longer do.

IMO the whole “white” guy was a mistake by the media that didn’t realise “Zimmerman” was in fact as much white as Obama is. Of course, once they were rumbled, they just had to keep pretending he is “white” by such weasle words as “light skinned Hispanic”.
