I doubt that, but if it was it would be a Palin type.
Not likely, because someone like her can’t really muster any real support from independents. While she herself may be able to make herself over like Nixon did between his loss in '60 and his eventual win, and thus be able to win indies, she wouldn’t be a “Palin type”, anymore, at least in the sense that you mean the term.
I don’t even think I can begin to conceptualize what a black Palin-type would be like.
