I just checked out HijackNoMore.com
This site is asking Americans to “sign up” and pledge that “terrorists will never again use airliners as weapons. If terrorists manage to gain control of an airliner, we will use every power God has given us to regain control for our dedicated pilots. Our goal is to insure terrorists do not use airliners as weapons. We are aware airline professionals will do everything in their power to resist hijacking. However, if they are unable to do so, we will rise up against the evil of terrorism. We are not militants or vigilantes; we seek no glory for ourselves. Terrorist actions have unleashed a new breed of consciousness and determination world. We will act accordingly”.
Will this indeed deter hijackers or is it simply a feel good act for the average Joe?

I think the events themselves on Sept 11 have already out this into peoples minds, independant of the website. That might be a deterrent to this particular form of terrorism, but there’s losts of other ways to kill people.
The terrorist topic goes to the bullying that has been and is being done on the playground and in school. There’s also a lot of info. about bosses who bully or terrorize subordinates. For example, see http://www.bullybusters.org/
I don’t need to sign up and pledge anything because I decided a long time ago to stand up against bullies as best as I can. This is no different. I just think that most of the doomed passengers thought it would be a hijack situation in which they would land and there would be negotiations, like in many movies. The ones on the downed jet over Pennsylvania learned otherwise, and acted as best they could to stand up to terrorists.
