That was in New York. Fewer Magats per thousand in that population.
I find it unlikely that Trump will come to trial on any charges before the 2024 election. The odds of trials being concluded and sentence(s) passed before then are small.
Exhaustion of appeals will take longer, and I don’t see Trump going to jail (if sentence(s) include prison) for a long, long time.
It’s a cinch Trump would get a higher percentage of a subsequent Presidential election vote than Eugene Debs did in 1920 while imprisoned (3.4%). Probably not a plurality, but with those fans of his, you never know.
I think Trump will never be jailed, much less within the year, because he is above the law. Not that he should be – just that he is, because the law is only what politicians make it in the short term and the long term. Note, being above the law is a matter of degree; he may have some kinds of penalties, such as fines or losing some rights or possibly house arrest in and between his various country clubs. If he is ever jailed, it won’t last past the next Republican president, who would pardon him or commute his sentence very early in their term.
I would be absolutely delighted to be proven wrong, and will gladly come here to celebrate!
