Will we have to trah our TV's?

Your 1940 set is a wood consoled floor model, right? If so, or if not, you can just get rid of the old “TV” and replace it with all the latest technological acronyms—setting them all right into any 1940s piece of furniture or appliance, and retaining the 1940s look of your living room.

So we’ll need new VCRs too, I suppose. Will they be digital VCRs? Will they be backward compabitle to current VHS tapes?

The main feature we must consider in preparing for any new leisure time / home entertainment technology is NOT to be found in any of these acronyms or (more correctly) abbreviations I keep seeing (i.e., S-VHS, HiB, DVD, NTSC, HDTV). No, my fine threading friends, the main feature to consider in preparing for the new technology is the price tag, alone. Expect high definition figures there—rather, definitely high figures! Pixels, scans, resolution, et cetera, don’t worry: the best of 'em all will become standard fare in no time. All you gotta remember is to maintain your wallet and go generic.
