I occasionally print who I was formerly. I wanted to change to a more interesting name. A lot has changed in my life, since my first postings here. I think my new name shows a subtle play on Ying and Yang around here.
Here’s a hint to my former name. “I’m always your darkest fear in the deepest recesses of your mind.”
I’ll print an answer here in about a day, if nobody can guess it.

And I just figured out that Northern Piper is the former jti. I think I might’ve even encouraged him on that course.
That’s where I got it. I was with a friend at a Sanrio store when that character caught my eye - all the others were sickeningly sweet, but there was this one mean-looking penguin who kinda stood out. He was in the back of my mind weeks later when I was trying to decide on a new handle for another forum, looked him up to find out his name, and have been using that name ever since.

From time to time I’ve thought about changing my user name. It’s kind of bland, and it’s also a pain in the ass to search for in a thread (some people just type “matt”, and then I have to wade through every time someone says “for that matter”). But I feel I’ve just got too much invested in the name matt_mcl to change it now. Brand recognition, you know. 
And you are one of the few posters who are underlined…don’t forget That!

I used to be ChiefWahoo, but I didn’t feel there was enough gravity to the name (and Gravity was already taken!)

Well, I changed my name and didn’t tell anybody. I don’t post much so I didn’t think anyone would actually care. I used to be ellykat but every time I got on the boards I got that damn “smellykat” song from Friends stuck in my head and it was driving me bonkers so I changed it to my real name.
Sorry to have caused you greif, all.
Did I confuse anyone with my name change?
Well I know I confused myself. On the net it took me like a week to choose the name Asmodean and it stuck with me for a few years.
