I met a guy while on vacation in a bar who claimed to be in show business in some capacity in LA. I overheard him talking to other people at length before I introduced myself, so I take him at his word.
For some reason, the topic changed to country music, and from there Willie nelson. We talked about Willie’s tax problem and whatnot, then the guy told me that he had a GOLF COURSE on his estate. That was surprising. Willie Nelson, golfer? I just can’t see the Red Headed stranger on the 9th hole, puffing on a joint, drinking a Lone Star. What does he wear? I can’t see him in golf clothes either.
Maybe to start a discussion, what do famous people do that is probably out of character for them to do?
Well I guess Willie Nelson needs a Hobby, look at Alice Cooper - who Golfs, I thought that was a little ODD.
Yep, he used to have a sign up about no more than ten or so in a foursome. In “Honeysuckle Rose” he got off the bus in a cow pasture to hit a few.
I remember Willie Nelson going on Letterman in the 1980s, before his IRS’ problems, and bragging about owning a golf course. Willie said, “The nice thing about owning the course is that par is whatever the hell I say it is. Yesterday for instance, I was out playing the 7th hole, which is now a par 37, and I birdied the sucker!” 
(For the golf impaired, that means Willie shot a 36 on one hole of golf, as opposed to shooting 36 for 9 holes, which is what par typically is.)
