So I was looking at this code: PHP Content Rating / Confidence, and I don’t understand this line:
$z = Rating::pnormaldist(1-$power/2,0,1);
. The function (public static function pnormaldist($qn)) only take one argument, so why are three arguments passed (1-$power/2 + 0 + 1)?
Also since the pnormaldist is not dependent on $positive or $total, would it be correct to assume that if I wanted to calculate a number of scores, this call can be taken out of the loop and called only once prior to that. Or rather, if I decide to use a power of e.g., 0.1 I can just hardcode 1.6448536466084 in it’s place and never call the pnormaldist function?
