And the fifth set is now officially longer than any previous singles match in history, in both number of games and time.
I hope he reaches 100 aces!
Exactly, this is so rare…it’s never happened before.
Keep it the way it is.
I don’t think Isner is going to be able to keep it up much longer. He is really looking out of it.
The rules are going to be changed after this match.
The Guardian live blogger is losing it
Isner’s starting to behave like Alec Guinness in River Kwai. It’s got to be unhealthy at this point.
Somebody please muzzle Brad Gilbert!!!
58-58. We’re now guaranteed to see the game score reach the 60s. Ridiculous.
Anyone know what score it is, I’ve lost count?
Aha, thanks.
10 hours, nearly.
For those wondering about the light, the sun has not yet set here in London. I reckon they could play till half past nine. Wimbledon matches have gone on until not far off 10pm in the past, I think, in the pre-roof days.
Edit… tried to Google that and it seems the latest finish pre-roof was only 9.17pm, which seems very early to me.
Called due to darkness.
Of course, this means that it’ll be done in two games tomorrow.
That’s it for now, at 59-59
I don’t see how Isner can get out of bed tomorrow.
Hmm, play suspended. Lightweights.
Sounded like Mahut was giving his winner’s speech!
So play suspended with both Mahut and Isner on 59 not out, is that correct?
Those guys will not be able to walk tomorrow, much less play.
Does anybody know what time they are scheduled to start?
The scoring system in tennis has always been vulnerable to this kind of match, it’s just took 100 years plus for it to happen. Should the system be left the same, in the hope it doesn’t occur for another 100 years, or do they change it?
